Diabetic Macular Edema Clinical Studies Are Underway
Do You Have DME?
Research studies are underway to help determine if an investigational drug is safe
and effective in clinically significant diabetic macular edema when treated monthly.
Studies for New DME Treatments Are Underway
For the nearly 21 million Americans living with diabetes, vision loss is a common
complication. If left untreated, approximately 25 percent of people with diabetic
macular edema may develop moderate vision loss within three years. Two national
research studies (RIDE and RISE) are underway to help assess if an investigational
drug is safe and effective in diabetic macular edema (DME).
Required study evaluations and procedures are provided at no cost to participants,
and travel may be reimbursed.
